Born in 1978, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sezin Özer completed her secondary education at Samsun Bafra Anatolian High School and graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Dentistry between 1996 and 2001. After graduation, she began her Ph.D. in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry (Pedodontics) at Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Dentistry and received the title of Doctor of Science and Specialist in Pediatric Dentistry in 2009 with her thesis titled “Evaluation of the Cariogenic Effects of Infant Foods.”
Between 2009 and 2018, Dr. Özer worked as a research assistant, lecturer, assistant professor, and associate professor in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Dentistry. During this period, she published numerous national and international scientific studies focusing on dental caries in children, traumatic dental injuries, oral health, and nutrition.
In 2018, she paused her academic career to establish her own Pediatric Dental Clinic, where she provided preventive, therapeutic, and behavior-guidance-based services for children. As of 2024, she continues to see patients at Samsun Dental Prime Oral and Dental Health Clinic.
Dr. Özer bases her scientific approach on protecting children’s dental health at an early age, promoting habits for cavity prevention, and managing traumatic dental injuries. In her treatments, she always prioritizes a child-friendly environment and empathetic communication.
Scientific Work and Participation
Dr. Özer’s studies have been published in prestigious international journals such as Eur J Dent, Biomed Res Int, Oral Health Prev Dent, and J Esthet Restor Dent. She is also a member of the Turkish Society of Pediatric Dentistry and has presented papers at numerous national and international congresses (TDB, EAPD, FDI, WCDT).
